ACS is or was supposed to give us more capable commanders. Well, by looking at past grads I think only 20% still play PUG's.
And as long as some in this community belittle people who attempt to command you will continue to have fewer people steping up to command.

I was told that I needed to wait at least six months or do cdt1 and cdt2 before applying to ACS. That seems pretty lame late at night... Maybe there should be a "late night" clause in the application.

What's late night got to do with it?
You can take CDT 1 and CDT 2 at any time
ACS takes a lot of time and effort to run for the instructors, they will want to make sure everyone who takes it will stick around (So they don't waste their effort).

sagacious, just take CDT. Its not that difficult, and if you want to learn, you can pick up a ton of material.
