After careful thought we have decided to proceed with the shipyard changes in the following manner. We will poll you scum then work on whatever has the most votes. We will make whatever changes we think best fits the role for shipyard you have chosen at our discretion then present you with the finished product

The polling options are given for what we will try FIRST as relates to shipyard. If it doesn't work we can just roll it back and try something different.


To clarify, the 4th option means keeping the current structure and just tweaking the capships.

Expect the caps to get tweaked & adjusted regardless of what system we go with, unless you all vote to leave it as is.


Some general thoughts:
-Decrease the power of dis 2(3?) against caps. Leave (increase) galv?
-Increase hull of caps
or
-Decrease price of caps
-Moving GS to SY and making them free
-Make SY act as some sort of a spec ref - giving up to 1k per minute
-Free or cheap vettes for SY

Where's the option to make shipyard so ridiculously overpowered that you only turn it on in large games (would solve the problem of scaling since you unlinked tech that previously required SY)?

I voted to make caps like in the MS days for their developpement and to adjust their relative armor and kill power(Since I beleive they should be cheaper, they should have less armor).

On the other though:

I prefer cheaper caps over stronger ones for reasons I already stated.

I beleive that making SY act as a Spec ref is unnecessary if the price of caps is lowered and that it shouldn't be done. Lower cap ship prices scales better and has no side effect(People getting a SY for the extra cash).

I can't wait to see SY back in the game :)

I don't see the role in the questions. or add a 'none of these choices' last choice.

- do you want SY as a 4th path, balanced with the other 3 paths ?

- or SY as a secondary/support path only ? in that case, support only or 'stronger end game' (more or less like now but with less 'cost' issues) ?

- or SY as a primary path, tac/exp/sup becoming secondary: this for games where 'sy on' is set and so giving a whole new meaning to 'sy on' parameter and a whole new way of playing.

so basically there are 4 possible roles for SY (4th path, secondary support, secondary strong end game, primary path/new type of games) and then these roles can be eventually combined or modulated with the 'sy on' parameter...

Buy the ships you need. Simpler is better.

Also, make the badass weaponry heavier, so there is a speed penalty for using them as a rolling juggernaut instead of a GS on steroids.

I'll be honest - I have no idea what you are asking.

I can only assume you never read the original shipyard thread that was stickied for over 3 months? If you read that thread I'm sure it will answer all your questions.

to make it simple: i'm just asking for a 6th choice 'none of these' because atm I can't honestly vote: none of the 5 choices suit me. Or I could just not vote but then you wouldn't know/see this and how many ppl have the same 'issue' than me.(always offer a 'complete' poll if you want complete statistics).

and yeah I've read the 3 months topic, i even posted in it IIRC.

Did you not see the carefully concealed option that says LEAVE SHIPYARD AS IT IS?
