I thought I'd start posting some of the stuff we teach in ACS to improve the godawfulness of commanding of today. We'll start by something fairly straightforward from week 1.
The Harakiri Maneuver
-----
This is a pretty standard move done by most vet commanders in the situation where both teams have the finishing bomb runs en route. Both teams have one last techbase and the majority of both teams are on the runs (i.e. no one is defending). This happens from time to time and the team who wins is the one who launched first or have the fastest bombers/shortest distance to the target, right? And your team will arrive at their tech base at least 2 minutes after their team finishes your tech base off, so you are screwed, right?
Wrong! Because YOU have made sure you still have an outpost alive somewhere on the map. So before the enemy bomb run gets to your tech base you launch a bomber and finish it yourself! For bonus points you launch and just shoot the last missile so you get your own base kill (but this is risky).
The loss conditions of conquest are:
a) "enemy destroys last techbase"
OR
b) "you lose last base that you can launch from".
This means that if instead "YOU destroy your last tech base" the enemy will be forced to kill all your outposts before you lose. This buys enough time for your bomb run to do their job and if you are lucky they won't pull the same trick on you. For some reason many of the newer commanders seem oblivious of this strategy, so you will probably be OK.

Advanced commanding strategy
Hmm, I recall an AW1 game. #resign were forbidden, but FF was on. The losing team decided to "end the game" by bombing their last tech base and AFAIK, it worked nicely.
Either the allegiance code changed or this is a joke or the "losing" team in that game had no outpost too.
I'd remove this post and forward it to the FAZ devs though. It's completely wrong to say that bombing your last tech base would only be good in situations where both teams are bombing. It'd be good in all situations where the enemy are about to win. Considering you don't need a garrison for bombers, a tech base isn't required to win. It'd be quite silly to bomb your last tech base vs ADV tech(you'd need a new garrison + a new tech base to get any tech back), but imagine a belter team doing it vs enh tech. It'd allow them to stay even with their enemies untill they get Adv tech which can be long enough for a win.

If this does work I would argue it's a very seldom used and little known strategy, I've never seen it done in my 4+ years of playing.
However knowing the poster, I suspect shennanigans.
