I understand some (imago? sp4wn?) may be working on updating Allegiance's lobby screens to work with higher resolutions, and good! But I'm just wondering mainly IF someone is working on it actively; is it still on the radar? I think it would really help to improve the overall look of Allegiance, and help to bring it into the 21st century..
So who is even still using 800x600 in windows? Anyone

doing the lobby bigger than 800x600 is 10% coding, 90% artwork...
also a real 'scalable' UI is what is really needed so that various resolutions could be used.
but scalable UIs are difficult to do: check how many AAA titles have a scalable UI for instance.
the 'top' would be a modable UI like WoW has (the only good thing in WoW
) , although their choice of "xml+lua" sux a bit and isn't very intuitive.

It is and it isn't KG, you can do a partially scalable UI; a scalable background, but non-scalable elements within for instance... We would have to revamp a lot of the interface code for a truly scalable background but that should (I think) be the ultimate goal.

Theres been talk of doing this a ferw different ways;
Having "hard" images for each resolution and coding in recognition of the closest Res to the user.
Make all the images vector/rasterize to make rescaling easier.
Tessalation(Cort) - By far the hardest to do artistically, but would allow support for any resolution in alleg.
I currently have 4 background screens redone in 1024x768 which work, obviously not entirely since alleg doesnt support the resolution. But with a nifty peice of software Imago gave me allows me to test them.

Its an idea, but personally its not going to improve the way it looks.
