Win7 & R5 Intro Video
Can anyone (besides Finn) with windows 7 confirm if the intro video crashes the latest R5 client when it loads?

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

My client crashed, after I tried to play the original intro (the one from CD). After installing Intel (Ligos) Indeo codec on Windows XP everything worked fine. Indeo is no longer part of the OS since WindowsXP SP1. No idea what codec the intro video of the download version uses.Imago wrote:QUOTE (Imago @ Aug 15 2009, 06:28 AM) Can anyone (besides Finn) with windows 7 confirm if the intro video crashes the latest R5 client when it loads?
From Ligos website:
QUOTE Pre-release/beta/release versions of “Windows 7″ - Indeo Codecs are not supported on any version of the upcoming OS known as “Windows 7″. Indeo will no longer be supported when Windows 7 is released. Users are encouraged to contact Microsoft to obtain the version of Indeo they are currently distributing and supporting.
The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

QUOTE If you or a friend needs a download, you’ve got time. We’ll continue to offer the RC download until August 20, 2009. After that, you won’t be able to get the download, but if you have the bits, you can still install the RC and get a key if you need one. (To get a key, just go to the Downloads page and follow the instructions.)
I'm sure you will be able to obtain a copy of R5 some howImago wrote:and R5

Windows 7 64-bit build 7100
important:
you need to have allegiance in fullcreen mode to test this! (you must not have the -windowed option on, in fact, dont have any options on)
