Ok I have to start off by saying this could just be my fault but being its been a month and probly around 150 hours of playing time should I not have moved up in rank even once? I have wated 0's come into the game one day and two days later they have moved up in rank. So id like some help with this I realy would like to know.....is it something IM doing wrong or is there some super rare glitch on my account?
On an entirely other subject ive had problems with my joystick since the start the problem happens when the default controls are on and roll is assigned to my wingman force extremes hat. Untill I disable the hat the ship will roll too the right untill I press foward on the hat. Obviously you cant fly with your finger constantly pushing up on the hat just so that you can fly in a straight line. Any help with all of this is much appreciated:)
Still a 0
PM Tigereye. He can check it out for you.
I don't use a joystick, so can't help you there.

Don't think there is anything you can do about it except disable it through ESC-G-C in-game.Ars0n wrote:QUOTE (Ars0n @ Oct 18 2006, 07:20 AM) On an entirely other subject ive had problems with my joystick since the start the problem happens when the default controls are on and roll is assigned to my wingman force extremes hat. Map roll to something else.
Arson i have exactly the same problem as you do with the hat key I use a logitec force 3d. And my hat key makes my ship roll constantly to the right
In the end i changed my control so the hat key was my "view" so i can view around the ship. And my roll is now my throttle.
So if i put the throttle in the middle i dont roll, if i put it up i roll right and if i put the throttle low i roll left.
I find it extreamtly handy. I just use - and + on the keyboard to control my speed.
Hat keys are looking around. Not for making a ship roll. Its a default key issue with allegiance.

See, the thing with the roll control is that it's made for an axis - a normal joystick has 4 axis controls - X, Y, Twist and Throttle.
Alleg expects the input to an axis control to be within a range. To illustrate :
<->_____________<0>_____________<+>
Minus (<->) is the lower extreme, Zero (<0>) is the middle of the range and Plus (<+>) is the upper extreme. This is how stick XY movement, twist (the 3rd axis on 3D sticks) and throlle is handled.
A button however, has only two states - 0 (off) and 1 (on). These map to the <-> and <+> points on my illustration above. So, when you map roll to a button, the game assumes that the position of the axis is at <-> when the button is not pushed, at all times. This causes the ship to roll in one direction continuously and go in the other direction (or come to normality) when you use the button.
In short, use the 3rd axis for roll (or throttle, according to Apoch's suggestion).

Ars0n, I've looked into your account to see what is up with your rank.
From what I can see, you have fairly regular activity (you sign into ASGS almost once a day) but according to the posted games you haven't played any.
In order to gain any rank you need to play in games on one of the community's "trusted" servers. Any server where you see "Game Posted. ID: 12345" after a game ends is a trusted server.
You won't get any points for playing games on one of the 100 MyGameName servers.
Hope that helps,

Umm, TE, I see Ars0n regularly on Planet XX servers. Actually, he plays there only.

well then there must be some other reason why I can't find any games with him as a player.
I'll look into it further.
