Welcome.

The acronyms and gameplay terms take a while to pick up. Check out the academy and wiki for this material and much more.

You're right... this is not your standard twitch shooter and is the reason why many of our players continue to play after 10 years.

Hey all, I'm a new player. I've been heavy gaming ever since I was a child, and recently, I have been breezing through every game I played.

I was excited when I heard this game had a lot of skill and challenging points involved, as well as EFFECTIVE team play. I've been a competitive FPS player for a while, and due to nowadays extremely low skill community and freaking casual gamers, I've been suffering with a waste of my skill.

I hope that this community will make a big difference in my gaming experiences, and I'm looking forward to working with you all.

I have yet to actually play the game because of a Windows 7 64-bit Encryption / Decryption error, but soon I'll be joining you as a competent rookie player once I re-install Windows XP.

Welcome.
look forward to seeing you in game.
You may be able to access the training missions by running the Allegiance.exe directly to get a feel for flying. There is lots to read if you wish to check out the academy and the wikialso while you wait.....

Yeah, I've already read into all of the wiki pre-cadet training. I'm going through the self-training for now, then once Cadet I starts, I'll learn there too.
Right now I can't even load my account because my operating system doesn't like the ASGS program, so I'll have to wait on that.

Have you tried to run the exe in compatability mode? That may help..

Hello everyone

I’ve been around for ... oh 10 days or so now, but only now saw this post (haven’t been reading forums much been busy with the wiki  ). Must say this game is truly awesome, it was suggested to me by someone who has been playing it for a while as one I might enjoy … boy was he right! I really look forward to the day I’ll be able to understand half of what really goes on, but I love the challenge and … oh well after all this pod is not that uncomfortable

Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself “officially” as a new player, so … HELLO! :D

welcome and remember when someone kills your pod it means one of three things:

a) You have a high :death: bonus
b) They are saying :iluv:
c) They are saying

Being new a isn't a usual choice and personally I shoot for b

Mr. C brings up an interesting point.

I often feel bad about podding newbies, and then wonder whether I should podkill them so they can get back to base instead of floating around... but I have a suspicion that most would think I'm being a nasty meanie head for killing their escape pod.

/edit Also I'd be teaching bad habits, so... I let them float.

<bp|> Maybe when I grow up I can be a troll like PsycH

Oh you got me wrong Mr. C, I absolutely love when they kill my pod because yeah no great kill bonus here
But I understand why they don't, so I just sit thight and look at the map trying to follow what's happening at least a tiny bit

Your clue appears to be high already, and it was a general comment ;) I kill the zero pods to get them back to base. If they complain, I apologize, explain, and let them float
