Got a few questions on the beta client:

1) Can I use it to play on the main servers yet?
2) Can I install the client without having to uninstall any .NET installations after 1? I want to come back to the game, but I need those later .NET installs.
3) Has the audio problem with the old client been fixed? The audio never worked for me. Yes, there was a topic in the troubleshooting FAQ on potential ways to fix it, but I don't want to have to do that.
4) Does it recognize mouse buttons beyond 3 without having to use another program to tie those buttons to some keyboard key combination?

Thanks in advance guys.

1) No
2) Yes, ASGS is not required for Testing FAZ Beta therefore you don't have to mess with .NET
3) Yes?
4) Yes? I believe this requires manual inputmap "tweaking" at this time. It's on my list for R6.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

ASGS currently works fine with later versions of .net other than 1.1 - It actually requires .net 2.0, and people run it just fine with others as well

What do you mean by inputmap "tweaking"? Do I have to change some alleg registry settings? Also, any estimate on when R5 will become usuable on the main servers?

A few weeks would be my guess.

Input map tweaking is just going in and changing your bindings to whatever you want mouse button 3 to be

try opening up inputmap1.mdl with notepad/textpad and adding the new mouse button mappings yourself. your milage may vary. I will just give you the safe answer and say "No" to avoid any issues with you.

no idea on r5 release. it has to be well coordinated as the R4 lobby and servers are incompatible. as we all know "well coordinated" does not seem to be in the vocabulary here :P
