All right, today, I took the following steps:TurkeyXIII wrote:QUOTE (TurkeyXIII @ Jun 24 2009, 05:01 AM) Make sure you have the extra artwork files.
1. Uninstalled Allegiance
2. Reinstalled Allegiance
3. Downloaded and ran http://www.mesialonline.com/madpeople/betaswitch.exe
4. Swithced to Beta mode in ASGS and updated the critical files
5. Successfully logged in but crashed with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error
6. Downloaded and extracted the contents of http://fazdev.alleg.net/FAZ/R5beta_artworkdevfolder.zip to my artwork\dev folder
7. Successfully logged in but crashed with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error
I've no idea what I'm doing wrong. Also, I'm no longer getting a pre-launch window with all the alpha graphics settings. Is that normal?
Re: White Rabbit. Step 4 should have gotten the new client if needed.
The pre-launch window is no longer there. Imago is putting all those controls into the proper <esc> menu locations. Doofus just added that window for quick/easy access to them.
I am guessing it may be the card. I am having connection issues otherwise would google it myself. Does the TNT2 support DX9? I am guessing no as that is a very old card but I could be wrong.

it's not the card. your issues are all due to
1) missing registry entry
2) dirty artwork (not porn)
I'm just now getting around to writing a proper wiki entry for "Testing FAZ Beta" and updating MS ShadowSwitcher.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

Yes, it does, although the driver description doesn't actually mention DirectX 9.0c.Dogbones wrote:QUOTE (Dogbones @ Jul 26 2009, 05:37 PM) I am guessing it may be the card. I used the .reg file provided in http://www.mesialonline.com/madpeople/betaswitch.exe for my Beta registry entries. I also checked after the uninstallation that the Allegiance folder was empty. After I reinstalled, I didn't download any new artwork or mods.Imago wrote:QUOTE (Imago @ Jul 26 2009, 06:27 PM) it's not the card. your issues are all due to
