Alternative fuel & ammo icons

I love the new icons, but after a big furball, they do get kind of intrusive and make it harder to track other icons.

I did some creative recoloring, and changed the ammo and fuel icons back to crosses, but I colored red for ammo and green for fuel (matching their color model color). They still stand out pretty well, but take up much less space.

The ammo & fuel models also seem HUGE. Why are they so big? I expected something like the basic powerup.

Just extract them in your artwork folder and overwrite when prompted.

If you don't want to overwrite make a folder called "Textures" inside the "artwork" folder and extract there. The game looks for textures in the "Textures" folder first so it will use the modded ones without overwriting the originals.

Bust out Microsoft paint and DIY bitch! Make them whatever freaky color your defective eyes perceive.

Meanwhile, I'm just going to sit back and stroke my balls as I contemplate the fact that I can see the full-spectrum of visible light in all of its glory (when my glasses are on)

If you don't like them, make some yourself. I think this set was chosen because it was colour-neutral and IIRC none of the other icon offers were. There was also a set with just the first letters (A and F) that would have done nicely.

The icons do use their own artwork files now, so you can mod them just like crosshairs and the like all you want. In the future we might change the icons to something else if an agreeable set comes along that everybody starts using. Clay's set is nice, but again its not friendly to the colourblind.

In my opinion, Brood's comment was 100% valid and 100% facetious, and I was just responding in kind. To my knowledge, Brood and I currently have no active grudgefest going on (unlike Immz....that guy is 110% dick if you ask me). No, not really
