I had an idea for a scout mounted signature modifier.

This device would fit in the cloak slot.
The modifier has a very slow activation/deactivation delay (Slow enough to read the numbers change), slowly raising your ships signature until it peaks at a certain point. (-2 or so?)

This would be used as a way of measuring at what exact % you pick up an eye. You can tell your commander "exp eyed at 263%"
You could also write down this number from two or three different positions on the map, measure the estimated radius, and narrow it down to a general area.

If you did this procedure at 3 different points. i.e. Point1: 67% Point2: 132% Point3: 80% Leave a probe at each point, and using those numbers, find the location of the eye.

This would make eye finding more of a game, rather than stabbing around in the dark with gigantic signature spikes of +200%

Sounds cumbersome waiting for the sig to drop back down between checks.

I'm not sure I like the prospect of making it even easier to deprobe, either. It can already be done with a bit of effort and getting people to probe in the first place (let alone probe well) is hard enough in pugs right now.
