The nan is near invisible for a good reason. I was actually happier not knowing there is a bright-red-nan-cheat out there. Bah.

I think Adept is just jealous.

What's the good reason it's invisible for?

So when the voobs think there is no nan left, and all hit the con... the clever unseen scout-ho is behind them at the very edge of nan range. It can take a long time for even experienced players who are hitting the con/miner/whatever to realise there is still one nan left.

If the nan sprite is bright red and easy to see, it should register even through the usual tunnel vision.

I suppose cheat was too strong a word though. It just reminded me of the "let's change all skins to bright yellow" problem.

The thing is, its not invisible, take it from someone who nans all the time, I dont use lead indicators and i dont use my ret to aim, i lead the nan just like i lead mini.

If you cant see the blue one you need to turn your brightness up ;)

To me it sounds the same as "hey, I suck at defending against SFs and SBs because I can't see them, let's officially make them half-transparent when they are cloaked!" would sound.

If you can't realize there is someone nanning it by seeing it's hull going UP when you are actually bringing it DOWN, or by hearing the sound, or by cycling targets continously while you shoot the miner and seeing scouts within 400m, you have no business being on miner O. Period.

Nah - it's not cheating its just like any other graphical mod.

It's the equivalent to someone increasing their brightness/contrast/colour to see things beter,

+ People have different eyesight and or colourblindness/reactivity to light. Modding the display so they see things better is fitting the game for them.

I don't think anyone has argued that it would hurt gameplay, just that it would have no positive value. It seems that it might only improve the situational awareness of some, lets try it out? No negative, possibility of a positive? Are we that attached to our blue donuts?

While a player is trying to save a constructor/miner his only defense is dropping mines and maybe firing off a few missles. Now we want to make that defenseless scout more visible and easier to spot/locate? If you are going to dumb down the game maybe perk the scouts bit too?

I've never had any trouble spotting the standard blue rings.

If people want to make them more obvious for them selves, they can download the mods.

This does not need an official change.

This.

If we change it in the core then everyone who has a modded sprite has to go get a new one again. This seems like an unnecessary headache since the people who want it changed already have a modded sprite.
