This change will only have a positive outcome, ie more people see nan shots. Is there a negative to making this so? If not lets take the little bit of positive we can?
heck, while we are at it, lets make most of mesials mods standard...heck...gat3 sucks in dreg fighters lets use modded gat sprites...ooh...and the roids look crap on my ATI 5870 so lets use the highres packs, blah, blah blah
Where does it end with changing the core?
if you realise that changing Nan sprites will help your game, then you require custom help so help yourself. The next argument will be what colour you change it to. Simple answer..pick it yourself

imho, red is a suitable color for a modded nan. According to Brainiac, (British Science Show) red cars are less involved in traffic accidents because the vivid red color catches the attention of drivers, thus preventing accidents.

The nan is near invisible for a good reason. I was actually happier not knowing there is a bright-red-nan-cheat out there. Bah.
How the hell is it a "cheat" ?? There is custom mods for near anything out there, if you change anything for yourself it changes the way you see everything. So everyones nan looks red to me. There is no extra help... And anyone else can do the same.
