Seymor you have NO first ammendment rights on the board, on TS, in the game, none, nothing, zip, bupkus, nada, zero.

Smoking cigerattes is legal, in some places. Contributing to a minor smoking cigerattes is illegal, in some places.

And we know you're not talking cigerattes, in which case you're simply full of crap.

EDIT TO ADD; The game belongs to Microsoft. Period.

In Serbia when you knock off a policeman's hat you get kicked, sweared, beaten and then arrested for resisting arrest. Freeza wrote:QUOTE (Freeza @ Oct 14 2006, 10:03 AM) Waterpipes are as legal as tobacco. It's not my fault people misuse them with illegal drugs. I'm just saying the allegs should know the laws of the states .........

....And I actually took it up in PMs with BV the day after it happened.....
Wow -- so you are an admin AND you have to study laws in every county and state and city where alleigance players reside? I hope you were joking about this Freeza. What a waste of time for an admin to deal with this if it is actually true.

If this is true, it also shows shows a lack of judgment on your part. I can say that if I were and admin, I would have banned you for lack of common sense.

Which leads me to why I post, folks. BEFORE you hit the send button to PM an admin on something silly, THINK. Then, wait a day. THEN THINK AGAIN. Use GOOD judgment and our problems will be mostly solved. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

MrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ Oct 14 2006, 04:40 PM) Before I begin I absolutely, positively, 100% feel for those with the RESPONSIBLITY to keep this community going day in and out. Why they do it I don't know but I'm absolutely grateful to them. If they had asked me my thoughts I would have gave them, but they didnt so Ive kept quiet. Well it appears it's being asked in general and the community is listening so here it is:

MrChaos' thoughts on how to make Allegiance better and grow the community to a healthly level. Community growth will absolutely require some sacrificies to your freedom. Deal with it.

1. Stop the bullying and asshatery by an aggressive enforcement policy

2. In order to get developer support and "official" status on www.freeallegiance.com all "owners" turn over the keys

3. For stats to count Auto Balance must be turned on

4. Official Cores should be tied to community size

5. Community wide ownership. No more "owner" of xyz core 123 server or abc system for "life or until I cant stand any of you anymore"
Mr. C -- makes sense to me.

It's called blanket authority and takes care of any instance not explicitely mentioned in either document.

Duckwarrior wrote:QUOTE (Duckwarrior @ Oct 14 2006, 08:07 PM) All this testosterone will make you bald. It's just the rules, nothing to get upset about, there's no need to spring into action and jump on a side like we are playing a competitive sport. I read BVs most recent post and that is all he seems to be saying. Play by the rules, or if you feel you are unable to for whatever reason, then in the nicest possible way don't play here.

Balling people out along the lines of, do it Thals/Pooks/whoevers way or $#@! off, just gets peoples backs up. The legal issue is moot, irrelevant, house rules are no drugs talk, normal courtesy should then kick in and you simply restrain yourself from doing so. It's simple, just don't do it, the odd slip or off the cuff remark isn't going to get anyone banned. But forcing the issue will.

At the end of the day, all most people want is a pleasant atmosphere to play in, not utopia, just free from the constant flame wars. Big ban sticks piss people off, pot talk pisses other people off, exercise a little common sense, if you aren't adult enough to do so, pretend you are.

What it boils down to is whilst you are playing the game or posting on the forum, follow the rules, do whatever it is that makes you smile (but don't necessarily tell the rest of us what that is) and PK every mother$#@!er thats has ever pissed you off.
