Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

I feel TF is Allegiance's version of the singularity meme.Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Jun 15 2009, 05:34 PM) I'm not too keen on the Glory to the machine bit. seems a bit too emotional for an AI. Flesh is weak is class though.
Something like "Humanity is obsolete"
Or to stay with my love of System Shock:
"How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?"
PS. Why did this quote amuse me so?
Shodan: Cease your pestering, insect. Accept the coming of your new lord.

<bp|> Maybe when I grow up I can be a troll like PsycH
<bp|> or an obsessive compulsive paladin of law like Adept
Yeah, are TF supposed to have "personalities" as such? Do they actually hate humans? Do they want, or understand, "glory"? Do they actually *feel* superior to flesh? Or do they just... not care, not feel anything? Making them totally devoid of even deeply negative human emotions might actually make them scarier.
I'm reminded of the Krikkit robots in HHGTTG. There was this great quote when Adams described them that I can't quite remember. Something about how the hatred of the Krikkit robots for all life was impersonal, "not the way an automatically printed parking stub is impersonal, but the way a steel wall across a highway is impersonal."
I remember thinking it was quite creepy. ^^
Actually, how about "It's Nothing Personal"?
See, cuz... cuz them killing you isn't personal, it's just their programming, but also cuz... they're not "persons," but machines.
Or "We Cannot Spare a Human Being, or, Through Inaction, Allow A Human Being to Survive."
... Okay, I'm pretty bad at this. 6_6
... "We Come in Peace"?
Eh. 6_6 I really like the Dregh creepyswamp and TF "High-Tech City" pictures and "we'll run you down" for Dregh, though. ^_^
