Windows Version (and Service Packs): WinXP SP2
Processor Speed: 3Ghz Pentium D 830 Dual Core
RAM: 1024MB
Video Card (Make and Model#): Nvidia GeForce 6600GT
Sound Card (Make and Model#): Intel 82801GB ICH7 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-1]

Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other): DSL
Modem (Make and Model#): Siemens SpeedStream 4100
Router (Make and Model#): none
Internet Service Provider(company name): Dialog Company
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country): Poland

Problem Encountered at Step #: 5
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: None
Comments (What you tried, description, etc):

I launched ASGS 2.1, downloaded newest build, registered new callsign and finally logged in. Screen went black and nothing happened further - I've waited about 5 minutes, but that did nothing, I also restarted my computer - again, nothing. Maybe it's because of my dual core processor? Ah, and system didn't freeze, I managed to shut allegiance down from alt+ctrl+delete shortcut. Any solution?

So you not seeing the allegiance screen at all?

What resolution is your monitor running?

Try dropping your desktop color depth to 16 bit.

What link did you use to download this 'newest build'? Did you happen to download a FAZ debug version?

okay then:
1) no, I don't see anything, just black screen.
2) I'm running at 1280x1024 pixels, 32bit color, but I tried dropping both resolution and color quality, but it didn't work. :(

oh, I missed your second post:
well, it downloaded right after first run of ASGS, but to be sure I also clicked help->get latest build of asgs
I'm not sure what FAZ debug version is - I don't know. Oh, and I got installer from here http://www.freeallegiance.org/knowledgebase/entry/11/25/ , just in case there are other releases available somewhere on the site, which I'm unaware of.

Try setting your color depth back down to 16 bit, and launching in windowed mode real quick. Should be an option in ASGS.

WOW! It works!:D:D:D:D Thank you so much:D
It looks that allegiance works only in windowed mode. Is there any solution to launch it full-screen?

Does hitting the maximize button or hitting alt+enter get you to full screen? Also try dropping your monitor resolution to 1024x768 if you get stuck with a black screen again, or even 800x600. It would be a good thing to know.

Ok, looks to me like your video drivers are pretty out of date.
I'm seeing some ForceWare Release 90
Version: 91.31
Release Date: June 23, 2006

So download the new drivers.
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Then check which version of directX you have. Start Menu > run > 'dxdiag'
Should say DirectX version in the bottom center. Post that.
