Would it be possible (or practical) to have more than one version of a faction in the core, ie... Iron Coalition (1-10) Iron Coalition (10-40) Iron Coalition (40-+)
Basically, having the same faction, but multiple selections of it, geared for different sized games.
If I'm not mistaken, some factions do poorly in small games, others poorly in large ones, or at least at a disadvantage over the other factions.
The hope is that aspects that are effected heavily by team size could be dampened by having multiple versions of a faction, each geared and balanced for certain sized games.
Any thoughts?
Multiple faction versions
I think it'd be sensible to assume that he meant duplicating all the def/pres etc to create completely independent factions that could be balanced to any given game size. My n00by understanding is that we're running low on def/pres as it is, so this would likely not be possible.

I think having three version of every faction's ship, base and tech would be a nightmareish ammount of work for the CC team to update. It might be made easier (and less messy for faction selection, and comparing win/loss stats etc) if we just had 3 different cores instead of 3 different versions of each faction in one core.
That would then make this idea the same as the large game version of CC, so really we would be looking at having CC05_Small, CC05_Normal, CC05_Large and possibly more given the discussion about special editions and squad versions etc.
Either way you're going to be making tripple the work when updating.

You can give tech the sy flag, right?
So can you put a g.a type thing that at the very least helps with balance, but it dependant on the team size settings (like i think you can set the minimum team size to 30 if you wish, im not entirely sure though) so in a big game, where it starts with 30+ people per team, you can put this on to increase base hull and miner hull or whatever
Just a thought, and i dont understand it terribly well

None for setting maximum team size. Whoever implemented that feature fell into a coma mid-development.
This will make prime time worse with lots of players unable to join teams if team limit is lower than available players.

And those players will make a new game, thus making prime time better as there will be multiple decent-sized games going on instead of one stupidly large game.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
