Retro Booster
I'll try to remember to give you a demonstration in game, as I'm one of the few people who actually use the damned thing.phoenix1 wrote:QUOTE (phoenix1 @ May 4 2009, 07:42 PM) That's not what retroboost *does* though...
Using it to slow down when coming to prox an aleph is a primitive use (and there are faster ways to get the prox up in a hurry). What it really is good for is getting the drop on an overeager (but not completely voobish) int pilot, opening up the distance enough to prox him and to slam a QL rack of dumbs into him for good measure.

That requires heavy scouts adept.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

I'm glad people voted to keep it.
Here's my input.
1. Definitely increase thrust on it.
2. I liked the free for GT post, so free for GT if possible.
3.It needs to come down in price and be free if/when you upgrade to starbase (if possible).
4. Most importantly it needs to have reduced mass like it was hypothetically already on the craft but just not activated, so buying activates an already present but dormant tech.
If you make it cheaper, increase thrust, and reduce mass it will get used.

It might be an idea to mess with the % acceleration property as well. Presently it's set at 0.125 which, according to KGJV, means the thing takes 8 seconds to reach full power. Even the current version stops most scouts in under 6 seconds, and so rarely reaches its full -600 thrust.
