Hi,

in the cc-forum there came up a discussion about broken modell-skin-relations for some doors (i.e.: rix exp, rix SY, IC Garr...).

It would be nice, if someone with the neccessary know-how could work on fixing those bugs.

The skins have nothing to do with docking. That's the CVH. And I've personally never seen any issues with the visuals on the bases, which is all the skins are.

I am no expert on how it works techniccally. The issues are as follows:

RixExp and I think bios Exp is pretty much the same: You have to dock at a place at about 50m outside from where the door is displayed. There is also a invisible wall below the door, where you can bounce off.

for GT Exp he doors and the dockingpoint also don't really match.

IC Garr: You can dock at the wall on the downside of the door.

I think there are more bases with issues like that.

This has nothing to do with textures. That's the CVH.

Fixed.

Now can anyone actually fix this? Or at least identify the problems?

Andon, don't be an arse, he said he didn't know the techincal way things work and you knew what he meant.
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

The visuals clearly do not match the actual functional docking area on some bases. One or the other needs to be fixed.

Which is basically, fix the hitbox (cvh) or fix this skin.

just editing the skin wouldn't do anything, the door would still look like it's in the wrong place relative to where you actually dock, but would now be a different color. If you you didn't mess with the .cvh, you'd have to adjust the actual model and make the displayed geometry match up. However that could skew the texture mapping and force you to re-do the skin as well, which altogether sounds like a lot more work than just fixing the cvh.
