Read the last few posts read about the problem with AVG (the latest version), uninstalled it, rebooted, installed avast 4.5, rebooted. Is it a problem with anti virus? I have no problem till step 10 upto the point where I try to connect to a game server. Here I click join a game it says failed to connect to the server.

Make sure Allegiance is allowed through window's firewall.
Make sure you are the administrator.

1. Go to your Allegiance directory (C:\program files\ microsoft games\allegiance)
2. Right-click on ASGS, the blue icon
3. Click on properties
4. Click on compatability tab
5. Click on checkbox which says "Run this program in compatability mode for"
6. Select Windows 2003 or Windows 2000
7. Press Ok
8. Run application

Ok, you can ignore that advice sr-71 gave because that isn't the problem.

It's probably your antivirus, i'm not 100% sure but I think some version of Avast isn't compatible with Allegiance, when you uninstalled AVG and rebooted did you try Allegiance or did you install Avast! then Allegiance?

Avira Antivirus is a reccommended free alternative which works with Allegiance (maybe we should get sponsorship with Avira...)

Try uninstalling Avast! then rebooting and then check to see if Allegiance works or not. If the problem persists it's most likely to be a router issue, access your router page and make sure ports 2300-2400 are unblocked.

But it is most likely to be Avast!

Ok, the problem was definately with the anti virus. After I uninstalled it and rebooted I was able to join in a mission and play.

So thank you very much!
