Ban times can pile up really fast, look at our dear friend goatporn as an example:

Someone really needs to release an alleg patch that has a mode for drunk people. This mode would basically block you from doing anything you can get banned for, such as spamming, joining the newb server, commanding and flying with no pants on.

I am curious as to what it was that was considered retaliatory however. From his own side nothing seemed like it deserved a ban. He isnt sure what it was either

I wasn't drunk. Still not sure what I did, but I PMd BV and he gave me a game number... Now if I can just find it in my logs...
