I thought it was because when you're biking, like with helo, your position changes a lot.

What are patties? Polishing? ...??
About YS addons:
Meh, site's in French, but DL links are obvious ( green links), get Modern Aircraft 2.0... and enjoy.

2 years ago, YSFlight was my whole summer, I even created my own (super) plane from scratch. I love it, and still go back to it once in awhile.

The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.

Well I got into a couple games on Sunday. Eye opener. This aint like other games I played. Damn I never thought i'd SUCK this bad.

I've read bloody everything for 6 days now, and finally got into a game, never thought the learning curve would be like this from my past gaming. Intense is all I can say. I'm getting used to flying a pod now though. I hope I can change that for the better soon, and no I realize i'll wind up in a pod from time to time, but it better not be this often.

One question, is it better to learn all keyboard/mouse? The joystick seems to defeat the purpose. Think i'll try it all on keyboard. Opinions.

Don't forget to give me a Whaaaa whaaaa when ya kill me now... right! See ya in game.

its really personal, there are great joystick pilots, and nutjobs like myself who prefer a trackball/ keyboard combo

try things, find out what works for you, and be sure to remap your controls!

Welcome Oviy! Ah, just to clarify, whether you end up using a mouse or a joystick, you'll be using the keyboard for a lot of commands anyway. :P No-one knows whether flying with a mouse or joystick is better; but I think pretty much everyone uses the keyboard to some extent.

There are excellent players that fly with a keyboard/mouse (numpad 0 toggles virtual joystick), and there are excellent players that fly with a joystick. A matter of preference, really.

Happy flying.

Flying a pod is one of the more important skills that you'll need to refine. It's a good thing you're getting a lot of practice in!

I've tried to work out the theory.

My take.

If you have:

a) A lot of practice playing games with a joystick

b) A good, not too stiff stick (yeah yeah, get your minds out of your pants people :P )

then it's probably a good idea to keep playing with a stick. If you've not really used a stick much, then you may well be better off with the mouse & KB combo.
