Allegiance is very hard to get to work on modern computers. I tried once but got frustrated after a while and gave it up. So I have not played for ages.

I would like to share a funny anecdote though. As all men should know, the AZ had ranks from 1 to 14. After playing a lot every day and learning the basics and all different roles, I found I really enjoyed nanning. I was around rank 4, which in the early days was between a noob and intermediate. Many games were won because of successful bomb runs by Lakeland where I was the key nan. He took notice and invited to me join sysx.

However, no one else noticed.

When I was around rank 7, there was a random pickup game with around 7 ppl each side. Nakkpi was commander of the other team. As the picking commenced, my name did not come up. Finally only 2 candidates remained. Nak had the pick. He chose some random rank 5 player over me, and said, and this is a direct quite: "I pick xxxxx, I need a whore on my team".

I did not nan in the game that followed. I whored. I killed a bunch of miners and bombers and enemy ships and had the highest kill count when the game ended. Nak's team was destroyed.

The following two weeks were a frenzy of "statspadding". I basically never left my IC int. Someone would choose to command IC. Then some fool would command another faction. Me, Kev and Ahaneon would always play the IC ints. It wasn't even about who won the game. I mean imagine being ur average pickupgame commander trying to bomb unnerfed 1.0 IC exp while the other team had a bunch of bloodthirsty whores. It was all about who got the most kills before the enemy resigned or was bombed. I was rank 14 in two weeks.

So I guess I owe it to Nak for helping me find my true passion in Allegiance. Hopefully one day things will be less hectic for me and Allegiance will still be alive. Right now I'm living in LA with 2 other poker players. We grind online poker during the day and go out clubbing 3 to 4 times a week. Hell I'm 27 and still living like im 21 lol.

By the way, anyone with a strategic mind, the perseverance and the willingness to study hard can make insane amounts of money just clicking buttons in his underwear in his own house playing poker. I know there are some bright minds in Allegiance who could do it.

Anyways peace all, Grey out.
It's been a long ride

Good to hear from you Grey. Though I didn't need the disturbing mental imagery. :P

Good to hear from you Grey. Nobody has ever carried off calling someone a "Pathetic weakling" quite like you.

Nice to see you again G_S. Glad to hear things are well and you are still enjoying the thriving Bachelor lifestyle
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.

I had a policy back in those days for squad games when I commanded. Everyone had a place and a task outlined for the benefit of the team. Grey_Slayer was cut completely loose from this and allowed to be as big of a pain in the ass to the opposing team as he saw fit. Results spoke for themselves.
