Is there a way, either by installing a mod or by modifying a directory manually, to change the location of the chatbox from the top of the screen to somewhere where it is a bit closer to your center of vision? Or at least increase font size? I tried searching but i didn't find anything that was helpful, either here or in the wiki. In any case, this isn't a huge issue, but it would be nice to be able to move the chatbox around.

look in dialog.mdl for moving it (don't know all repercussions of it, experiment!)

look in my blog for font size mod + in wiki for how to do it (look for mdlc)

Moving the text box in dialog.mdl is possible and probably easy.

Having it so that you can move it on the go, though? Not so easy.

That would be a lovely feature though.

Also being able to run allegiance in maximised window mode with the ability to resize and undock these info panels and move them to your second monitor, would be great.

Don't worry, I'm aware of the time that would take to code. I won't be holding my breath. It would just be a lovely feature :) .

Edited for crap English

First would be a bitch to do but may be vaugely possible without a code change.

The second? Oh dear lord that would be awesome but would require so much code work you might as well spend your time re-writing the alleg code into something a bit more useful

You never know.

R5 will be running of DX9. It might be a bit easier to do in DX9. I've no idea though, so don't quote me on that.

Just because it's easier doesn't mean it's easy. It's easier to lift a lead ball 8 ft across than it is to lift a lead ball 10 ft across, but it's still a real pain in the ass.

And I really don't think that docking/undocking things is connected to DX9 or DXWhatever

Absolutely,

Just wishful thinking, that's all. It's good to be optimistic ;) .

Well i modified dialog.mdl in the section headed "chat history," changing a couple of values. Unfortunately, when i went to try it, the ASGS 2.2 started complaining of connectivity issues. Am i doing it wrong?

Well, that's ASGS and not allegiance. You can test things in the training missions if you start allegiance without ASGS (Just go to where you installed it and run allegiance.exe rather than asgsclient.exe)
