Welcome Newbie Players
Welcome to our village, Furby, Caioltun and XB7.
Situational awareness is definitely the most important part of the game! Always keep the minimap in your lower left hand corner open and expanded (click on the triangle to make it wider), it's probably the best tool you have, and read the chat to see what is going on. It might take you a while to understand all the acronyms that we use. If you don't understand what somebody said, ask.
If you're not doing anything, do one of the following:
1. drop probes in sectors you do not own (see the minimap for which sectors are not yours, and then command view (f3) to see if there are 4+ probes in them already)
2. go out scouting for their miners/constructors. You can't see what you can't kill: fighters and interceptors need a scout to eye stuff. Press f6 and look at their team to see if they have any miners left, they will be at the bottom)
3. babysit a miner/escort a constructor with a scout, especially if either one is next to a sector you do not own. This can make the difference between a dead and a living miner and 80,000 monies, and everyone will love you if you do it
4. if somebody is calling for support somewhere, go help them...

Hello Everyone.
My name is Todd (Toddshooter) in game. I am an avid Car race sim player, Live For Speed mostly.
I stumble across this game on the web and it is right up my alley
I should be joining you online in about 6-7 months after I have read and tried to understand all the data in your Wiki
Hope to see you soon Todd

Welcome to the jungle.. uh, game, Todd! Seriously, this game is most rewarding if you know you way around, but you will not need to memorize the full wiki until later
Your first stop should be the training lessons, have some fun in-game, and then go on into Cadet. If you make it that far, you will have a great time ahead! See you in game!

One of the worst dogfighters this game has yet seen. And still, Cadet II made even me better!

This'll be Alleg's very own boomer generation, by the looks of it

a) the wiki is mostly the history of this community, which is not needed to play
b) the info won't make any sense unless you use it.
c) you learn more by playing than reading.
Read to supplement your playing, not the other way around! When I tell you "drop probes between 800 and 1000 meters away from an aleph" that won't mean anything to you until you get into a game and see which alephs your opponent's ships are going to come through.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.
