Solution here:
http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...c=48092&hl=

Read carefully follow links, it might be a font compatibility issue exactly like vista.

Nope, Sorry no luck. I have tried the Font Fix and reset the computer aswell, nothing. Windows 7 See's Vista in the Compatibility list so its obviously a different OS like comparing XP to 98 kinda Different

Some people have been reporting that its with .Net applications that give them this error in Windows 7.

Will keep researching.

Seems i Didn't have the Full Re-distributable Net 1.1 SP1 but only original 1.1. am currently Downloading SP1 and still have a few more Ideas.

Note: Allegiance.exe itself Runs, Updates etc. and even does the Training Mission just fine. but wont go into the lobby (having not logged in) So i know the game WILL run, just not the Client.exe

apply the hotfix yet? (found when you run windows update... at least on XP). a reboot would be in order, too.

That problem should be long gone by now. It was caused by some .NET 3.5 (which is built into Win7) components messing with .NET 1.1 components.
The above makes me think, that you've installed from an old installer. If that's the case, please download the latest one from the Downloads section of this site. See if that works.

uninstall everything including the .net stuff, allegiance, C++ redistributable...the works.

Reboot. (for good measure)

Reinstall each component by right clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator"....this is a MUST!

Once everything is installed, goto the allegiance folder you installed to and right click ASGSClient.exe and goto properties and then select the compatibility tab and then check the box "run as administrator" then click apply.

Enjoy :)
