It just freezes up on me for no reason. i was going through the training missions and near the end of all of them it just freezes up on me, but the sound continues and if i move or anything i can still hear it moving. I tried to ALT TAB out, but then my screen shut down and i could still hear the game. i checked my cord and it was fine, so i had to reset my computer and have no idea what to do :( :glare:

It's just in the training missions that you've experienced problems so far? My guess is that it's your nvidia video drivers. There's a known issue with some of the latest drivers. The training missions aren't normally maintained (although some folks have done a very nice job of adding a few new ones). Basically, the community doesn't put much effort into them as they're seen as being minimally useful. It's all about the on-line gaming experience... something no scripting can adequately capture.

But I expect that you will have problems connecting to our servers with Norton. Sad to say, but true. They do something that makes it virtually impossible to get Allegiance to work with Norton installed. (Besides, it's such a resource hog that most people have tossed it in the (virtual) rubbish bin. There are free alternatives, such as Avast Home and NOD32 that work well and don't interfere with Allegiance.

famous last words :P

Norton can stop lots of viruses getting in, but really the firewall is about as effective as windows firewall (maybe less?) and as for Anti-virus there are lots of alternatives, AVG on XP works well, or you can use NOD32 or lots of other stuff. However sad as it is there is no fix yet for Norton and Allegiance and thus it is a case of one or the other, I would implore you to use alternative antivirus methods and have fun playing this great game but the choice is yours.

That may be a sound file or a graphics file that may be corrupt. Try "Update/repair critical files" found under the help menu in the ASGS program.

Let us know if that helped.

Probably not hotfix related. If you can connect, then you're probably running a version of .Net that has the hotfix code. I *think* 2.0 is such a beast, but don't quote me on it.

I'm more inclined to think that you've got a hardware/driver issue. If you can't determine a specific sound or graphic that always causes the crash, it's unlikely a corrupt graphic or sound file. Sometimes hardware overheats after a time, or the driver has a bug that may only manifest itself after a time. From your further description this sounds like what is happening. Do you play other games? Which ones and do you have issues with them?

Wireless may also be an issue (goes to the hardware issue).
