I can't get disc 32 open because of some residue on the surface left from how they were taped together to keep from moving during shipping. I'll pick up some cleaner this afternoon.

First rough pass done. Random notes:

- I get the impression that these are mostly the things he had a direct hand in producing/editing.
- There are 4-5 CD's just of .avi's from the cutscene, probably for editing purposes, but I'm not yet sure if any of the raw models/texture are actually there. If so that would be great, because they are all much higher quality that what we see in game. Also a 400MB photoshop file that I'm scared will crash my laptop if I try to open, but apparently has something to do with E3 displays.
- There's a ton of softimage model/scene files. The company has changed quite a bit over the years, but they do make a free version of thier current software for Game Modders. It seems to be able to open up the old files without too much fuss. The models and most textures can be opened fine, but I haven't been able to figure out if the animations and shaders & procedural textures show up in the couple that I've tested.
- The textures I've seen so far are all 512x512 or 512x256. This is actually consistant with what it says in the developer diary's. In his email, me said he "thought" there were some 1024x1024 .psd's.
- There's a lot of stuff, but it also implies that even more that existed at some point. There are lots of screenshots of ships from different angles used for marketing materials or storyboards using really great models and textures, but so far I haven't run across the original files. There are also wallpapers for the different factions with cities/buildings that clearly use some of the same geometry/texture elements as in models in game, but at much higher quality.
- Explosions: There's double res .bmp's of what we already see in game. Also have a couple high res .avi's that we can pull images from to make even larger version.

- I still haven't had the chance to clean the last CD yet, so we may find some really awesome textures or something else on there. Just looking at it, it appears to be fairly full, so there should be something good.

Although there are a few repeats, most of the data is organized pretty well, so I'll probably just upload it all as is. There's still a lot of files that have to be opened one at a time and will probably take a while. I wouldn't get your hopes up that this will overnight revolutionize the way the game looks. If it turns out we don't have absolutely everything, we at least have a much better picture of what pieces we are missing and where to look for them.
