Give Plas Gens more range

I bet if you run 200 mps at prox 1 you get vaporized as well, or at least heavily damaged, but that's not the point. Plasma gens lets you clear camps easily, helps greatly on miner and con offense and is useful in dogfight. It has to be, to compensate for both no missiles and no prox.

Exactly.

Plus you need no skill to use Plasgens, you just drop them and they start shooting @#(!. You don't even have to target anything.

you need no skill for prox either. if skill is dropping them in front of an aleph, then god help us.

All factions can have AC towers and can research SC towers in tac. TF starts with SC towers

Yes...aleph dropping, the only use for prox? How about proxing a miner or a constructor? Or a bomber/HTT? Proxing a fast mover in open space is also difficult work. And I can't count how many times a well placed prox has been the difference between a dead TP2 and a dead enemy base. Proxing enemies on a miner attack is also another fine art I've seen many scout whores use, saving ammo for the ints 'n such, and let's not forget corvettes using prox to kill countless enemies.

Also, if you drop prox when you first see an enemy come at you (close range), they'll get out of it before it activates and avoid it. Not the case with Plasgens, which actually shoot stuff.

so plas gens are a win button, you run straight to the miner with the fire button pressed down and another finger in the drop button and you're set for a couple miner kills?

No, they're just cheese and require no skill to use, and they don't need a perk which was the topic of this thread.

Plas Gens deal anough DMG to @#(!. Why would you wanna make TF any more cheesy than it is? (mmmm... cheese...)
I podded an enh fig (ss2) with Hvy gen 2. I think that counts as "SRM Pwnage". Now if I could only use them on the $#@!ing pop-up ads....

I've soloed a bomber with minepack 1. Being able to kill things by dropping MUST be cheese if your logic holds. (Just think if I had minepack 2!)

Yes hvy plas gen does huge damage, but one of them is not going to stop a bomb run like minepack/prox can.

Sounds like the community is against this.

I still think TF needs a perk.
