That was one of the most annoying tricks I've ever seen done, placing one or two probe next to every one of my He rocks, and harassing my miners to boot. For a while there I would get an aye and expect ints within 25 seconds. The hard part was not mining, but finding your dastardly probes.
:D Probes win games, yo
Granted they didn't in this case, but it made sure our team was always ready to fend off your HTTs and capships.

I was late too!
was kinda worth it though
Icky wrote:QUOTE (Icky @ Jan 27 2009, 05:33 PM) it got more fun for me when Defi showed up, esp. when I accidentally rammed her head on at an aleph. :ninja:
ROFL That was hilarious!
We tried to pull together like 8 different HTT runs, but each time one went before the distraction was ready, or everything was timed well except that there were no nans, etc etc.
That run, we FINALLY had everything in place - tonnes of nans, and a well-timed distraction
I watch Defiance go through the aleph at a slow 10mps infront of me, then pop RIGHT back out at an oblique angle at like 60+mps (The aleph sped her up 25 mps both ways)
It was too late for me and the nans who careened in and exploded a lot.

Was a good laugh though!

Longest game I have been in, and the first time I have seen a base in every sector, but it was fun. I do think Yellow nearly pulled it back because we had so few probes out that they were virtually able to scamper through our systems at will. It was a good example of the importance of probing as has been mentioned above. It also meant they could retain the initiative and keep us off balance by launching attacks on miners and bases, which then broke down the attack that Blue was trying to pull together. Several times I thought Yellow were on the verge of breaking through and steamrolling us back.

Yellow held their ground and just refused to buckle or give up, it was well played and hard fought.
