The following is a true story:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Install Windows 7 on a 20gb virtual drive giving it 1024mb of ram and 64mb of video memory.
Goof around in my virtual PC. I believe I installed 3 Windows Updates, one of which was a security update. The other two were not .NET.
Download Alleg. (Jeeze my internet connection is slow.)
Try to install Alleg.
Install Alleg.
Run Alleg.
Go through updates.
Alleg crashes and can't replace some stupid BSG file. I try to run ASGS update, can't find the .exe.
Restart my Windows 7 installation.
Run ASGS, run ASGS updater (still complaining about the BSG). Update finishes perfectly fine.
Run Alleg, do updates again.
Updates are done!

Next on my list: Test DX9 and R5.
The only bad thing about this is I'm using VirtualBox, so the drivers are not my actual video card drivers (I think that's how VirtualBox works?).
NOTE: I played around with some networking settings, turning on a little more sharing I believe. The only other program I installed on Windows 7 was Firefox 3.1 Beta 2.
