To start off, I know the reasoning behind not having a capacity GA. A Capacity GA would actually increase the mining time, which no one wants.

However, if you bought it and He3 Speed together, it would get you more in the same time (Essentially becoming another He3 Yield GA, which everyone would like). Now, this would be expensive ($4k for 10% more, $5k more after that for another 10%) enough to make it impractical. BUT! You could lower the cost of each some, to say 75% of what they are now. So $1500 for He3 Capacity and He3 Speed 1 (each) and $1875 for He3 Capacity 2 and He3 Speed 3 (again, each). A link between He3 Capacity and He3 Speed could also be done, so after you get He3 Speed 1 you get He3 Capacity 1, and then after He3 Speed 2 you get He3 Capacity 2.

Thoughts?

well, it certainly would make speed more useful, and less overshadowed by it's much bigger and more handsome brother Yield

I blame Compellor's topic for me thinking of this. As it stands, He3 Speed is almost useless when compared to Yield.

Ninja Edit: Also, who says it has to go in Expansion? It could fit into another techpath (Obviously you wouldn't link it to Speed then), such as sup.

He3 speed is useful to get miners out of harm's way faster without babysitting the stupid miner AI even more than usual or trying to guess when they've mined "enough" before recalling them (since there is no He3 indicator for miners).

I like the idea though because it's like the anti-He3 speed. If you get it alone, without speed, you get more money per miner load, but your miners are far from home for longer. I don't like the idea of linking it with speed though, and I'm not sure what you mean by making it "impractical." >_>

But on most settings a miner will rarely mine a full load, besides TF, Dreg and Belters (maybe IC). Hell I'm pretty sure the 1.0 capacity factions can't even fill up a miner on 1.25 total, any money settings higher than that gets very ridiculous.

It would be exceedingly useful for Dreg though on 1.25.

A better question, would it allow Giga miners to empty a sector single handedly?

edit: whoops, forgot my point. It would make assault mining easier, since you could cut and run with less miner trips carrying larger loads

Would be useful for lower # of miner econs. I can see some benefits, but this sounds like a Tac or Sup GA.

A He3 Capacity GA is possible from what I can tell. It's just some bits in ICE that need to be changed
