ya, i am thinking it's not the firewall, but the AV, but I'm not certain. Going to do some more testing as I have time over the next few weeks and will call tech support. If I have to, I'll call our symantec tech support from work (symantec corp edition), since the same thing happens on Vista even with corp, tho xp plays fine with corp from home and work.

Sorry for the late reply. I disabled the Windows firewall as well as the Mcafee Firewall. I haven't had the oppurtunity to try this with a vista and Norton system yet so I have no ideas there. THe one change that seemed to make a difference was the last item on my list. Change the network settings in Mcafee to trust the network.
