Problem Encountered at Step #: 8 will not connect to lobby. Used to awhile ago when I played, but still wouldn't be able to connect to games, and would lose connection while playing.
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: Failed to connect to the lobby
Comments (What you tried, description, etc):
I really would have no clue how to fix this. I don't want to mess around with settings, and screw something up. Thats why I'm here. The most I have done is exit, and retry. Awhile ago when I played before it worked. Had the same problem at times, but just closed out and retried. Now that wont work. Also if you could help when in game, it disconnects randomly(forget error msg its been so long) and then would say could not connect to the lobby. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Can not connect to Lobby
Port forwarding, I'll try it. I googl'd it and this is the website I came up with. Is this correct? http://www.dslwebserver.com/main/fr_index....forwarding.html If not, what is. Also I called our cable guy to check the cable out. Its been slower than it should be. It may be something with them, its been acting a little different with a couple games I play. Anything else that could seem to be the problem. Please let me know. Thank you

The modem you listed is just a dumb modem - no NAT is done by it. If you have to do port forwarding for it, then you have a router somwhere between the modem and your computer. Find it and let us know the model number and we can give you specific instructions.
The page you linked shows a Linksys router (with an old firmware) which can only do single port forwarding. Allegiance needs 2300 to 2400, so you may need to use DXPort if your router supports only single port forwarding. Confusing, I know. Just find us your router model and we'll help ya out /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Oh yeah, about your connection quality - if its really sucking, you might be dropping packets - that will cause Alleg to bomb you out from the game.

That is the Router correct? Otherwise the cable comes directly from the wall. Oh and we do have a vonage phone unit. Could that cause some disturbance? We should have around 500kb upload speed still.
Specs for the vonage unit is
Motorola
Model #: VT2442
Part # 519583-005-00
Impute Voltage: + 12VDC = 1.25 A
S/N 159303613901349101016261
Customer S/N: 082T3G885Y97
WAN Mac ID 0016B5F046CF
Thats all the letters, numbers, and information found on this little black box and on the vonage unit. If that is not the model number for the cable unit, I'll ask the repair guy in the morning.

Okay, from what I gather, you have a coaxial cable coming out of the wall, which is plugged into the webstar modem. From the modem, you have an ethernet cord going to the Motorola Vonage phone unit. From there, you have a cable going to the vonage unit itself, and another cord going to your computer. Am I right?
The Vonage unit has a router built-in. The manual for the unit can be downloaded from here. Anyhoo, glancing over the manual, you can easily log in and set up port forwarding rules for it.
Open up a web browser, type in http://192.168.15.1
use 'router' for both username and password when prompted.
Once in, you'll want to head over to the "Advanced" settings
There'll be a "Port Forwarding" button on the left side. Go there.
You'll then want to set up a "Custom Port Forwarding" rule.
If you haven't already, go find your computer's internal ip address, an article is available on how to find your computer's IP address.
Type in Allegiance for the application. Drop-down the "TCP" protocol and change it to "TCP and UDP".
Leave the Source IP field blank and put in 0.0.0.0 for the Source netmask.
"Destination IP address" is the ip address of your computer, that you found via the article.
Input "2300" for the Destination Port start field, and "2400" for the Ending field.

Anything for the destination port map?? I'm going to try it how it is, and will edit or reply letting you know if it worked or not.GreyVulpine wrote:QUOTE (GreyVulpine @ Sep 25 2006, 04:21 PM) Type in Allegiance for the application. Drop-down the "TCP" protocol and change it to "TCP and UDP".

Hmm.. Try "0.0.0.0" for both the Source IP and Source netmask. Leave the destination port map blank.Agnoeo wrote:QUOTE (Agnoeo @ Sep 25 2006, 09:18 PM) Anything for the destination port map?? I'm going to try it how it is, and will edit or reply letting you know if it worked or not.

Alright I did that, and clicked save, then it came back up with all the fields blank, but no errors. So I'm thinking it did what its soposed to do. I tried to log onto the lobby, but didn't see the announcements and updates scrolling and didn't load for awhile, once it did I tried connecting, but still says can not connect to lobby.GreyVulpine wrote:QUOTE (GreyVulpine @ Sep 26 2006, 11:42 AM) Hmm..
