well my other half has sent my isp a "pleasant" email since we have been trying to get a new modem/router from them for 12 weeks!!!!

so no idea when this thing will turn up :(

guess im stuck with little bursts of allegiance when no one else is wanting to use the internet :(

Internet -> Modem -> Router -> PC

Example: Internet Address of 71.43.56.12
Modem (internal) 192.168.0.1
Router Address of 192.168.1.1
PC 192.168.1.2

So ..

You need open the ports on the Modem and forward to the Router
You take the router ports and forward to your PC
You make sure the firewall is open on the PC.

I hear all the talk about the router, but the modem also has a router component.
Speedtouch DSL

Note. I am guess on the IP's I listed as a sample. You'll need to check all of them.

And I *very* confident you should be able to get in.

We've seen modem/routers being used as just modems because of problems, but a modem/router as a router because of problems?!?
