nVidia 8800 GT 512 MB, crappy frame rate
Where did you get this version of the driver? I am only finding 177.79 (released July 29, 2008) on nVidia's site under the beta drivers section.Bierfuizl wrote:QUOTE (Bierfuizl @ Aug 12 2008, 05:20 PM) Just to let you guys know: With the latest 177.83 I'm actually gettting 150+ fps

So, is this new driver the fix? Should I down load it or keep running this alpha set up? If the new driver fixes the problem, how do I change my alleg back to normal? Hello.... I dont want to mess with things until I hear that Dogbones system works cause mine is the same vidio card.

Only thing you need to change is your allegiance.exe. Rename the current one and the next auto-update should give you the normal one. I actually switched back to the dx9 client as it seems to runs smoother overall on my machine. The old client still gave me some hickups from time to time.caveman wrote:QUOTE (caveman @ Aug 27 2008, 01:26 AM) So, is this new driver the fix? There's alot of erroneous information in this thread, what is that actual fix? Roll back dx? new drivers? Most of the solutions are from 2007 or 2008.
My card is this GF 8600GTS 675M 256MB DDR3DUALDVITVPCI-E
It's made by XFX, so does that mean I should get the drivers from nvidia or from xfx?
(sorry, I suffer from a rare case of noobophelia)
*edit* my exact problem is that everything will be running fine and then all of a suddent all major objects turn yellow and my Fps drops to about 2 and I have to exit the server and go back in to fix it.
