Hunter, Killer vs. Gunships

Meh, I nanned Captains Weeda's GS for ages last night and only died once. Even weed got up to something like a 36. After SOBs GS lost his nan, I preceeded to nan them both, against SFs with Hunt3 and Figs.

Then the server crashed.... Bastards

Ozzy is correct. Well, IB is correct, but ozzy is correct in this circumstance. Not that ozzy is IB in this circumstance, but that ozzy actually has the right answer, and is therefore correct. Meaning right. Not IB.

Killers are really cool
The sig is so low that you don't have to fire them. You can push them right into the gunships ass and are still uneyed if you want.
I remember a game where we killed Giga bases with killers. We attacked a tele and the defending fighters flew past us without a chance to spot us.

When they introduced the hunter killers back in open beta, in typical MS fashion... the damn things where fast and never missed. Fire, Boom... Though for some reason I only remember that happening with belter ships. They'd take out a scout in one hit, fig in one with a decent bonus... Ints in two. I think the patch that followed was the fastest one they ever did.

Sad to say, that wasn't the only massive boo-boo made, rix combat pods where drop and forget... Fly straight, cloak and drop... they'll kill the nearest enemy ship for you.

If you'd READ the thread, it was about KILLERS for SFS, NOT HUNTER KILLERS FOR DESTS.

Meh... given smart gunners and smart nans, you will have to muster a huge force to defeat the GS + support using killers... esp vs. Bios since they will be able to spot your missile mounted SF and blow you away. Smart nans will hide behind the GS. Smart gunners will shoot the killers knowing full well they are going after the nan. Smart nans will also cross nan, making things even harder. IMO, killers need some sort of minor perk - probably tracking. Too many times I've seen rotten games with ppl flying around in fast Ass Ships doing the same thing vs. Tac and completely whoring the other side with nans constantly ripping in and the sole turret getting an obscene bonus, even vs. Hunter 2 & killer. Same goes with corvettes.

At this point I just hope my comm buys exp as the ints will make mincemeat of the whole lot due to the low sig. Another situation where ints do a better job at what tac is supposed to be good at.

Imho, Killers better to have , lrm 3 is best , but since you speak not of adv tac but 2nd tier tac, killers. When attacking utility you only care about your first 2 missiles anyways . The 1st 2 missiles eat shields and the rest of your damage is util 1 or 2. If u cant adjust your angle of attack when your inbound to land 2 killers on a util or miner then dont go tac ever. Ive slaughtered plenty of gs with killer and with lrm 2. Prefernce = killers more BOOM for the buck and better for base defense as your optimal sf defense is behind the bomber and nans slightly avioding mines . Not from the sides which is impossible to land killers . Also for reasons that Ozzy mentioned , TEAMWORK. If your the only one on your team attacking a gs, u should quit that game.
