I've made a probe layer constructor and everything works fine except it's linked to the "tower requests location" ogg file. I know there must be a way to change this because the GT bases have their own sound files.
How do I change which file is triggered? Am I overlooking something simple?
New constructor sound file

you can"t change it. Layers and base constructors don"t use the same system for the 'request location' sound.
Unfortunately for layers it is hardcoded to 'mine or tower' depending on the part type dropped (Part UID in the drone panel).
A mine type will give 'minefield requests location', all other types will give 'tower requests location'. Since your part is a probe type you get the tower sound.
And this can"t be changed atm.

You can change the base request sound in the base file in ice.
Simplest way to figure out what triggers the sound:
Find the sound number in ICE.
Open sounddef.mdl - Find that number, and what it references.
Search what it references. That should either be a sound file or another reference. If it's a reference, repeat until you find the sound file.
