I use a Netgear Rangemax 240. It's great! Has built in presets for Zone games and whatnot.
May I suggest a read-through of this?
WARNING - Do NOT assume that if a particular router from a company is great, every other model from the company is great as well. Rodders has a Netgear router that doesnt even let him through to the Dplay8 lobby. Also, pay special attention to the version numbers of certain routers - they make all the difference in some cases.

Any router that does forwarding can be set up so multiple people can play Alleg through it.
I have a D-Link DGL-4100. It’s on the pricey side, but it’s worth it, IMO. Supports forwarding, triggering, special servers, uPnP, filtering, all that fun stuff. And it auto-detects gaming traffic and gives it top priority. No matter how bogged down your connection is (downloads, torrents, etc), your lag stays low.

I have been using a DLink 614+ for many years. It has some issues with the performance and it mangles traffic in some circumstances... But it's easy to set up.
At the moment I am using an OpenBSD computer with pf as a router. It works, but it takes some effort to set up. A IPchains would probably be easier, if you want to build your own.
Using a dedicated computer with PF (OpenBSD) or IPchains (Linux) gives much more flexibility and is quite a bit faster. But then you have to have an old computer laying around, two network cards and go through the hassle of setting it up.

I have this model as well (not sure about the final "S", but should be similar). Mine works just fine however TE has pointed out in the past that ever since Cisco took over Linksys, the routers have been "dumbed down" (less memory, I believe) and they don't work as well as the previous versions. I think TE said avoid it if it is version 5.x or greater. (Mine's a 4.x or something)_SRM_TheBored wrote:QUOTE (_SRM_TheBored @ Sep 18 2006, 01:59 PM) Linksys WRT54GS. These things are great! Easy to setup and tons of features...

well thanks i just helped my friend purcase a PC yesterday about this time and im helping him do a full conversionf from @#(!ty mac to kickass PC, his mac takes longer than dileup to load web pages and he is on high end cable (his dad is an ignorant fool and belives macs are better) and his mac freezes up all the time.
So he will probly be around in a few weeks with some random anime swordsman name. Ill make sure he dosent become a n00b for i actualy can use the "punch in face" button /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> though i think it will not be needed
Any ideas on getting a cheap monitor?

Beyond the clock tower.
Be VERY VERY careful when getting one of these. There are newer revisions out of these routers with quarter of the memory (RAM and Flash) so they are just about impossible to use with P2P and you can't flash one of the better linux firmwares on it cuz of the reduced flash memory._SRM_TheBored wrote:QUOTE (_SRM_TheBored @ Sep 18 2006, 10:29 PM) Linksys WRT54GS.
