AllegTongue 0.8 - Public Beta
A voice recognition utility for Allegiance and other programs.
AllegTongue was originally developed because certain users (myself included) were unable to coerce BackTrak's AllegChat into behaving as designed. The credit for the idea of creating a voice recognition utility for Alleg is entirely BackTrak's. Subsequently, AllegTongue evolved to support almost all programs (see below) that accept keyboard input, with a feature rich command syntax and support for hundreds of loaded commands with high recognition accuracy.

PrerequisitesMicrosoft Speech SDK 5.1 - This 'apparently' ships with Windows XP. If you have both 'Speech Recognition' and 'Text to speech' tabs under Control Panel -> Speech you're good to go. Otherwise obtain and install SpeechSDK51.exe HERE..NET 2.0 – Available HEREA microphone.Installation destructionsDownload AllegTongueB8.zip and unzip to a folder of your choice. If you've not already done so, download and install the Microsoft Speech SDK.Put the speech recognition system through a couple (or more if you have the time) training sessions. This can be found under Control Panel -> Speech -> Speech Recognition -> Train Profile...Fire up AllegTongue.exeSelect a Push To Talk key by clicking 'Set PPT key... then pressing the key of your choice. My personal preference is the Start key.Load / unload your desired command sets by clicking the check boxes next to their names.Hit your PTT key, speak into your mic and have fun.Known issues
Certain DirectX games poll the keyboard for input in a fashion which is incompatible with AllegTongue. We are aware of this, and plan to address the problem in a future release. Please try using AllegTongue with other games and report success or failure. Obviously we don't have the £££ to buy every game affected, so testing with freely downloadable games would be very much appreciated.
FAQ
Q: The command file for my chatpack isn't included in the AllegTongue download. What should I do?
A: Simple. You use AllegTongue's latest feature: QuickChatExtractor.exe It's included with the download. Start the program, enter a sensible name of your chatpack (weird characters will likely result in errors) and hit 'Extract Chatpack'. Once extraction is done, restart AllegTongue and a new command set should be present. NOTE: Some of the voice chats are unsuited to recognition in their native form. 'Yeeeehaaaaw' is a classic example of this. Whilst we've gone to some length to ensure the chatpack extractor will render the voice chats usable off the bat, you may need to edit problematic chats using AllegTongue's built in editor.

Thanks Baker will give this version a try. The last beta worked fine on my machine.
One test later = For some reason the new beta does not work for me.
Allegtongue recognises my speach but does not output the keys to Alleg.
Old version still works fine.

Please redownload from the link in the original post. Turns out that a last minute bugfix was a concept breaker. It's fixed. Now... let's see if anyone can find the original bug. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />mr_e wrote:QUOTE (mr_e @ Jul 21 2008, 08:37 PM) Thanks Baker will give this version a try. People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.
