Ok, as I said I would be looking into texturing Faction X, since I think they are very cool models.

I have never ever skinned/textured anything prior to last Thursday. Critism is welcomed as long as it constructive and within reason. I would like to learn more, and luckily for me Im an insomniac so I have been learning at a decent rate(I think /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> )

Andon will explain the theme probably a lot better than me since he told me what sort of theme he was looking for.

Ok here goes;

Fighter

Fighter from the Side
Fighter from the Top
Fighter from the Front
Fighter from Below
Fighter from the Left Perspective
Fighter Perspective

Scout

Scout from the Top
Scout from the Right
Scout from the Rear
Scout from the Front
Scout from the Bottom
Scout Perspective
Scout from the Front
Scout from the Right Perspective

Stealth

STL from the Side
STL from the Rear
STL from the Front
STL Perspective
STL Bottom
STL from the Top

Hope you like them /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />

What I asked Sp4wn to create, after he showed me a few, was an industrial type of skin, maybe in metal plates, but not a scavenged look like Belters. What I did with the textures was I mapped out the ship, made a 'base' texture (Eventually just going with outlines for the scout), and sent that off to sp4wn along with the model (So he could test the skin).

It still looks somewhat belter-ish, I'll admit, but it's different enough to be distinguishable. Instead of having everything scavenged from everywhere, like the belters, and having the slapshod paintjobs, things are generally left unpainted (Except for warning areas), and perhaps some things are a bit scarce, so they have to stretch what they have.

They're a little to busy, especially the fig.

Maybe polish the texture a bit more, so they actually look like polished metal plates (with bolts on the ends?). Kick the 'carton box' feeling.

Make the cockpit jetblack or something.

i disagree, i think they are $£%*& awesome.

they don't look too berltery, defiantly more industrial.

maybe a little less rust on the underside of the stealth, but i wouldn't say they are too busy, you won't notice it so much in game.

i don't like the almost-continuous line on the wings of the stealth. (break it somewhat, make it not at 90 degrees to the forward axis or something)

as for the rest - i too thing they are awesome. they are not too patchy, but hey it's mass production! and no time/sense for a paint job /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

i just hope that it's development won't take as long as OH's took ;

I think the texture detracts from the shape...hides the depth and facets (I think this is what Death3D was getting at when he suggested polishing the texture). I'm not a modeler so I cannnot offer any suggestion--simply opinion.

Love the radar dish on the scout!!!

Yeah, I see what you mean. I'll see what I can do to make it look better.

The brown and black hazard stripes on the fig need a bit more work. At the moment they look unfinished compared to the rest of the textures. The ones on the sf look a lot better.
The yellow on the guns needs to be toned down, it's a bit garish at the moment.

I think the scouts dish and the sfs engines could do with a bit of highlighting, to make them stand out from the background a bit more.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Ok the Int is done and looks like a beast!!!

INT

Int Side
Int Front
Int Bottom
Int Top

New STL model which Andon sent to me, looking sexy if I do say so. I also made some Edits to the texter to make it more clear than the original and removed the continuous lines on the wings as requested by Mordechaj. Enjoy.

New STL
