I believe the easy mute function is more of a thing you have in the absence of an @Alleg. That way you can completely ignore the guy spamming thinking its funny, amusing, or just attention whoring if there isn't someone to put a foot to his ass with a note saying "Stop doing that".

I guess I should have been more specific. In a game situation of course the commander can (and usually does) boot the spammer. That would make my message redundant.

I'm talking about when you're in the lobby waiting for a game to start (where else can right click someones name? Oh wait, I forgot, I'm playing Allegiance, that means I automatically don't use my brain).

Assuming two spamming newbs/voobs/other *bs in a NOAT of 45 and no AFK players, the method you described requires 43 people on NOAT to filter out the spammers' names on that long ass barely readable whtie-on-white NOAT list and click twice on each of them.

In comparsion, it takes about 20s for a skilled @Alleg to alt-tab to his/hers Enforcer, type offenders callsign and send teh XRM Banhammer the right way.

I am usually not in the mood to make my eyes bleed from reading slightly whiter text on sligtly less white background for a couple of minutes, nor I can be assed to type '#mute X_UeBerLe3tpsaiC0Kil1aH78349(1)'. 'cs is just so much easier (typing 'STFU' is a bit less easier, but more enjyable).

On a lighter note, I like to listen to the spammers, write their name down. Then personally make sure I annoy the crap out of them ingame, usually they are new and like to chase my scout in their Fig for an easy kill.... Got to love prox and idiots who fly straight in a line behind me(Aww I guess that time spent spamming could have been learning not to do that). Yes, finding someone's name wirtten in WHITE on slightly less WHITE is a $#@!ing pain in the ass when there are 40+ to choose from.

Beisdes, not handing out some bash towards spammers will create @#(!loads of spammers, thus creating a situation, in which you will have to spend most of your time in NOAT muting people.

I say $#@! it. Why would 40 people be assed with muting some moron, when he/she can be pointed into a blessed direction of not spamming?

No, I don't spam. I don't like spamming. Why would I do something I don't like and is not profitable?
