The game is developed by people in their free time.
The code is old, twisted, garbled, and unholy in many other respects.
Few people have Head tracking equipment.

Those three reasons are why it will not be in Alleg any time soon.

However, there are probably programs out there that can act as a stand-in. Make it so that it binds the movements (up, down, left, right) to the joystick's hat, and then you'll be able to do it by going Head Tracker - Program - Allegiance

The fact that the view commands don't work when bound to the keyboard is a known bug. Head tracking is a nice luxury, but not being able to look around when flying is a pretty serious handicap and annoyance.

The sad part is, I've known this for a year, and still haven't had the time to get the Alleg source compiled & working so I can fix it myself. I have nobody to blame but yours truly. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I would be willing to take a run at this if their is still some interest in the feature. I have TrackIR 3 Pro with Vector Expansion. I think TrackIR and Freetrack support would be a nice addition to the game and I would like to contribute if I can.

The trouble I see with this tech is that if you look left you aren't looking at the screen  and so although the screen changes to you looking left you aren't looking at the screen anymore to see it ;)
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

I was thinking the same thing. In the first video he was talking about motion scaling, but I noticed every time he looked at the screen he ended up looking out of the right-hand window. I have always tried to look round corners and duck when things fly towards me. Maybe binding it to the left, right up, down thrust controls would be more use in Allegiance.
