it is probably synced to his vertical refresh rate. (it could draw many more, - people have been getting over 600 fps with the alpha build which can have v-sync off)

so it only draws the frames it needs. yours is drawing unnecessary frames, and using twice the power it needs to.

Just to clarify....I'm getting ready to buy a new card. Is this problem specific to a specific nvidia series of cards or is it a driver issue? Sounds like a driver issue. Has anyone compiled a list of cards that exhibit the issue?

how bout the 8800 GTS?
9000 series?

Hey guys,
I've got another problem, choppy graphics, cause I can only use software mode ?!?!wtf
Geforce 8800GTS 512

Already played around with Nvidia manager, but didnt work.
Haven't tried a driver rollback, yet (I'm using the 175.16).

Any clues?

Use the Dx9 alpha. Some minor glitches asides it runs fine, giving me 600+ fps at 1920x1200.

o.k. I hope you guys don't get mad at me, but I sent a few bug reports to Nvidia.

Well, I called them a few names 'cause they really seem to be ignoring us and we have a legit issue.

Then I drank a few beers.

Then I submitted a bug report where I basically called them a vulgarity in every bug report field except my name and e-mail address.

Had a few more beers.

Then I submitted a bug report but this time only my e-mail was real. my name was something like: nvidia cock munchers Jr.

I don't think they are gonna have a patch for us any time soon. Sorry.

Doh.

Hopefully they won't equate users with developers /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I am sure they get their fair share of hate mail for other programs.

Nothing has changed with 177.35...
