I think you're really overestimating intelligence, Night. Most of them have no idea how to win. Evidence- how many people in the game go miner hunting? Ever?
zach, you should have noticed something about picked games by now. They're inevitably stacked; they are usually stacked much worse than a non-picked game. I'll explain why if you'd like, but the "why" doesn't matter- go look at the teams the next time they are picked, and ask a real vet which of the unknown names are hiders and which are voobs. The hiders will all be on the better commander's team, the voobs will be on the other team. Picking removes the ability of the usual antistackers to antistack without removing the ability of the stackers to stack.
Game counted?

Really, Lyko, people fight against and whine about "stacked" teams all the time. What's keeping them from observing what that stacked team does? Why don't they sit and watch how they kill miners or defend bases or bomb with 2 bombers and 15 nans? My single biggest problem with people crying stack is that they don't make an attempt to get better. They acknowledge that the other team or certain players play the game very well, but why don't they ask those players questions? Why don't they emulate them and do what they do to win?

Masta Masta Masta.......... the main objective of the game is not to see how many kills you get, but to win and to do all the fun and boring things that contribute to a win. If you want to whore you get to see your self in lights after tha game - IM king of the hill!!!! -Mastametz wrote:QUOTE (Mastametz @ Sep 14 2006, 11:51 AM) We should have a ranking system based on kills.
Once again all things that are required to win a match should be allocated points.
If you are concerned about abuse of nanning e.g. nan and shoot a fig for ever then just cap it to an average amount (derived from the amount of nanning that should occur in the average game).
Who gets the kill when 3 kill one? Is it the person who did the most damage or the person who took the last armour points off?
I think it should be the person who did the most damage. and the others should get assists. This should count with ramming and mines as well as normal projectiles..
By your reasoning, we should just shut down @CDT and hold stacked games for the noobs so they observe how they get pwned and as them to try and emulate the stackers. Yeah. Right. /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />NightRychune wrote:QUOTE (NightRychune @ Sep 14 2006, 06:54 AM) Really, Lyko, people fight against and whine about "stacked" teams all the time. Culm on a stacked team will always win. Culm on a stacked against team will win far less often.NightRychune wrote:QUOTE (NightRychune @ Sep 14 2006, 10:30 AM) @CDT should be shut down because I think sucky people should ask the better people what they're doing wrong, watch what aforementioned good people do right, and get better? Okay.
Does that mean the antistacking Culm is a worse player and should ask the stacking Culm questions?

I love the attitude. This is why we have the same number of people playing now as we did 3 years ago. Wonder what keeps chasing them off? /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />NightRychune wrote:QUOTE (NightRychune @ Sep 14 2006, 03:30 AM) @CDT should be shut down because I think sucky people should ask the better people what they're doing wrong, watch what aforementioned good people do right, and get better? What have YOU done to improve the community?
Oh, you really should reread what cadet is all about. We do not produce whores, vets or top players. We teach BASIC skills. Then it is up to the player whether to improve themselves with squad membership, further reading, observing games and vet players, etc., etc.

Just to play devil's advocate depending on your definition of stacking or better player, perhaps it does.Dengaroth wrote:QUOTE (Dengaroth @ Sep 14 2006, 11:21 AM) What's really amazing me about Night's attitude is the whole "stacking automatically makes you a better player".
Example 1) Based off stacking definition.
If you define stacking as good players choosing to congregate on a team, by definition the stack only includes these better players. Voobs and/or noobs cannot stack because they dilute the concentration of good players on a side simply by being there (and their desire to join the stronger team is immaterial).
Example 2) Based off how to define better player.
Take 2 otherwise "equal" players who look at two teams. One sees a balanced game while while the others sees that one of those teams is much stronger, likely to win, and its probably more worthwhile for them to join that side. The player able to identify the stack has a better tactical grasp than the person who cannot and is a better player at least on that level.
