Callsign Reset

The summer 2008 callsign reset has been made.

All users are allowed to play with a total of 3 callsigns: their primary callsign and two alternates or "hiders." This list of alternates has just been cleared. You are free to create new callsigns to play with if you wish.
Simply sign in with your desired callsign and it will be added to your list. The next two alternate callsigns you use will be the only ones you are able to use until winter 2008.

Q: Do I need to create a new callsign? Do I have to do anything?
A: No. If you always play as "Tigereye" then continue to log in as "Tigereye" - your primary callsign has not been changed.

Q: Does this mean I lose my hider "Tiger" that I play with every other day?
A: No, but it does mean "Tiger" is off your list. If you want to continue using "Tiger" for the next 6 months, log in with him now. If you create two new callsigns and do not log "Tiger" in, that callsign will still be yours but will be unaccessible until the winter. You can reclaim it 6 months from now after the next reset.

Q: I'm in a squad - will this affect my squad tag?
A: No, as long as your squadtagged callsign is one of your 3 callsigns. If your primary callsign is not in your squad, be sure to log it in once so you can use it for the next 6 months.

Q: Do I have to create my hiders now?
A: No. You can create them any time, even a day before the next reset. The first two new callsigns you sign in with will create your list, whenever you sign in with them.

Q: Why does this community do resets anyways? Why are we even limited to 3 in the first place?
A: In order to encourage responsible gameplay and to minimize the "I think I'm anonymous so I can be an ass" effect, we limit the number of alternate accounts you can play with at once.
After a while though, things may get old and you want to create a new name. This is allowed twice a year.

Q. If I activated a callsign but didn't use it as a hider, do I have to reactivate it or can I just log in with it straight away?

No, the nick is still registered so no one can use it.

Just log in with it. Read TE's post. The NEXT two you log in with will be your new hiders. (Your primary remains as your primary)

I tried to log in with a new hider.. my first actually. It said specified account does not exist.

Only other callsign I've used was the @CDT for cadet 1- newbie. in may. any help?

Check your password.

"Account does not exist" means "incorrect username and/or incorrect password".

thnx badp, I took it to the help thread and got it corrected... wasn't login/pass... just other areas of operator head space.
