my point is, why do you have to invoke a vote if this is something that should be corrected for the better and won't affect anyone who doesn't care about it?

I don't think tiny little A's and F's will make it that much easier to pick out.

But I agree that the EoR icons are a bit large.

How about using X instead of +? It'd take up the same amount of space but be noticeably different.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

In a related story, I have no idea what you're talking about with the GoD ammo/fuel icons being bigger than the other floaty-icons. I edited the an original + file to make both of them /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

It would be nice to spot ammo & fuel more quickly. Is there any chanse to have really distinctive icons for these? Distinctive like the lightningbolt of the powerfup?

Fuel would look like the green fuel canisters (in miniature) and ammo like the usual ammo-rack icon (again in miniature). I was reminded of this thread today, after cycling through the little + signs looking for fuel & ammo during long fights.

Do we consider the ability to quickly scan bunches of generic floating icons a skill? Or just annoying? If annoying the choice is clear, get us Fuel and Ammo images.

Yeah. However Apoch wants to do it is fine, lets just get something in there to tell them apart.
