Quick request, can the CC use the fuel and ammo icons (see GoD core) instead of the + for tech, fuel and ammo please? It makes things much easier in a furball and isn't a major change. Hell, you could even release a mod that makes the icons back to the + for the hardcore oldschool if they want.

I've tried them fuel and ammo icons before, in my opinion they are too large, and the ammo icon looks rude. Perhaps I could create a better set of them.

As I said, I wasnt really a fan of the GoD ones, and I hate having to target something to find out what it is. So i made these quickly.

Not to different from normal icon but just a little bit more descriptive /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Ammo

Fuel

I like the fuel one, but not the ammo. I like that they are different, majorly, from the standard. Perhaps have a box with a F or A in it?

as long a they are different in the core, then people can make whatever version they want to use.

i say, get the different named version in the core, even if both versions are of the same + picture.

don't let deciding on what the picture should be delay putting it in the core.

i'm thinking a F for fuel and an A for ammo in a similar style to the T for tech (maybe a px or two smaller in dimensions).
but what is in the file doesn't matter, just as long as the core is saying to use different files then it's all good /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

if you think we will release a different version of a core to support icons for ammo and fuel, then you must be smoking something.

If we use the icons for the ammo and fuel, then then we will use them, aslong as the community decides to. Then if individuals want to release a mod to turn it back to the orig they can.

i am slightly confused about this response?

i think you misunderstand my post.

right now the core has
an entry for fuel which says use [generic floating icon]
an entry for ammo which says use [generic floating icon]

and there is a [generic floating icon]bmp.mdl

this thread is about changing it so that the core has
an entry for fuel which says use [fuel icon]
an entry for ammo which says use [ammo icon]

and make a [fuel icon]bmp.mdl and a [ammo icon]bmp.mdl
and people are discussing what the icons should look like

i'm saying, change the core to have
an entry for fuel which says use [fuel icon]
an entry for ammo which says use [ammo icon]

and while we haven't decided what [fuel icon]bmp.mdl and [ammo icon]bmp.mdl should look like, just set them both to look like [generic floating icon].

this means, whenever you do decide upon what [fuel icon] and [ammo icon] should look like, you just have to put those two files on the AU to replace the versions which look like [generic floating icon].
it also means, while you are still deciding, people can use whatever version they want.
should for whatever reason people don't want to switch to them having different icons, they can leave [fuel icon] and [ammo icon] with the same contents as [generic floating icon] and never know the difference.

it's just some forward planning and making things more efficient by putting it in the core ready, but not changing what they look like, then once you decide what they look like, you just push the replacements and don't have to push a new version of the core too.

You are quite correct. I was a bit confused with the your post. But, i will say, if you actually looked the icons i made they do have a different name from the standard. Also we would be voting wether to include such a thing.

do you still understand that it is a completely separated issue wether you implement them by default or not and the fact that it could be set the way madp says so we could manipulate them manually
Classifiable up to Trolleomorphism.
