Actually, to be funny, I shot up to rank no. 189 in my 1st 2 weeks, by doing what most newbs do and get into the most advanced ship they can and attacking the enemy. And letting go of my trigger when a friendly crossed my crosshair, funny, ain't it. Damn accurate during those 1st few games, wish I could return.

PS. - BTW I think the leaderboard was reset recently.

Anyhoo, advertising still needs to be done. If 100 people see a poster and try the game, and only 1 ends up being a real alleg pilot, that's worth it to me. When this semester is over I'll see what I can do.

I think that should be corrected to:

We dont have any more of a problem now then we had in the recent, and not so recent, past.

But, we HAVE had a problem with newbie retention for quite a while.

I see all this and say... there is no harm in making an ad. Posting some ads in every place available (thats free) won't kill the game (unless too many ppl crashes the severs then thats a problem). I'm trying to make a 500x800 pic ad for alleg. but looks like paint work won't work...

i would like a big population as well and i have been trying to help the increase. But most of the people i find use vista and have norton and mcfee and refuse to remove it to play so if we could find a way to fix this problem im sure that would help i have been tryign and have the lan and i can sometimes connect to the online games (rarely but sometimes) with my vista computer of course im working with the orignial code lol.

i am willing to help any way i can rather it be programmign or advertising which i have been trying to do and have picked up only about 4 people though.

It's funny I came across this topic. Because I'm in the process of trying to fraps me some good Allegiance vids and mix them in with a real life vid, kind of a 5 minute mini-movie about Alleg and puttin it up everywhere so pplz can see. I'm learning Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects to do it, too.
