Update Loop Failure

Just thought I would check in one more time. I still can't get past ASGS. My last attempt at correcting this, I went into regedit and instead of deleting just the microsoft games/allegiance keys in the local_machine as you suggested, I deleted any and all references to 'alleg' and 'asgs' throughout the entire registry.

However, just one more piece of the puzzle, when I first install the game clean and double click on asgs, it opens the normal window. If I immediately click on the 'X' to close it, it closes fine. However, if I click to log in, it immediately does the update and returns me to the ASGS window. At that point, if I try to 'X' out of ASGS, it gives me the screen I showed earlier.



At any rate, at this point, I will assume that no solution can be found. I've turned on e-mail tracking for this topic, so if anything changes let me know. Or you can PM which will also reach me via PM. Otherwise, there's not much point visiting the boards anymore except for the occasional humorous postings in Off-Topic (which seems pretty threadbare these days : ) At the point when Pook creates the new installer, it might be worth trying again, but I kind of feel that's not the problem. It's probably something wrong with this laptop configuration which makes it incompatible with the new build.
